I feel you must understand what a fraction is before you use operations with them. Algorithms fall apart if they are not remembered correctly. KCF? The ironing board Method? I have seen it all.
I hope to fill this page with ideas on how to help learners conceptualise fractions. What is best practice? I can't answer that, but I will use what I seen/done/read to help me. First stop... representing as pictures!
